The Whitney Museum Gala Gets Very Versace
The Whitney Museum of American Art’s annual Gala and Studio Party was the place to see and be seen Monday night. Patrick Dempsey was as McDreamy as ever, arriving with Donatella Versace, who co-chaired the event. Sting performed much to the delight of guests at the black-tie dinner. His wife Trudie Styler swayed to the music, along with Christina Ricci and newlyweds Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey. Though it was Donatella’s night, other design talents enjoyed the festivities. Thakoon, Jason Wu, Behnaz Sarafpour, Jay Godfrey, Gilles Mendel, Christian Cota and Sang A Im-Propp all mingled with the well heeled crowd.

“Sting is like fine wine,” said Dempsey of the performance. “I remember listening to him when I was younger and he just keeps getting better with age.” Versace agreed. “Sting couldn’t disappoint.”
